When I tell people that I am a designer one of the first responses is, “so like… you do logos and stuff?†Branding and creating logos is in fact one of my job responsibilities. Although it is not a large aspect of my work, it is often one of the most challenging. The logo bears a lot of responsibility. It expresses the brand and acts as the most important source of recognition and familiarity. It also represents the values associated with the brand. Needless to say, creating a logo is a heavy burden. Continue Reading

Here at dt we all wear many hats. Though I am primarily a designer, my daily tasks can include strategy, marketing and sales. Likewise, my co-workers are sometimes required to be designers. Thus it is super important that anyone, with any background, can prepare deliverables that are consistent and professional. It is my job to create these initial documents as flexible and efficient as possible so they can be easily edited by anyone.

We’ve noticed that there is a need for a Coworking space in San Diego. So we are opening our office up to the San Diego Web Community. We prefer to share our space with creative and independent professionals working in the 2.0 space that are open to sharing their perspectives, humor, ideas and energy.
We currently have 4 workstations available at dt. We offer:
- Multiple conference rooms and meeting spaces
- A 50″ plasma monitor for presentations
- Pod style collaborative workstations
- Wired and wireless web access
- 10 foot windows with view of Balboa park
- A beer fridge
- Lots of music
- An instant crack (espresso) machine
- An excess of Tomfoolery
In case you are unfamiliar with what Coworking is - here’s its Wikipedia entry:
Coworking is an emerging trend for a new pattern for working. Typically work-at-home professionals or independent contractors or people who travel frequently end up working in an isolated way. Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and who are are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.
If you are interested in a workstation at dt or just want to drop in and for a few days, please post a comment below or give us a call. Here’s our flickr stream.

At dt we meeting every morning for half an hour to discuss the things we all want accomplished for the day. My schedule can get filled up pretty quickly if I don’t pull back the reins on my list of to-dos. I’ve been keeping a so-called “analog†to-do list for myself with this ancient technology called “pencil and paper.†This has worked well for me so far using my own little set of icons and margin indications to indicate priority, time estimation and due dates; I’m finding though that this method is still lacking though in helping me get things done. What I really need is a to-do list application that I can use on my mobile phone in the meetings, remind me when I’ve got a task to do, and help me prioritize what I want to accomplish. Enter Remember the Milk.
