Boost Adoption Levels of your RSS Feeds

RSS feeds are everywhere these days! From blogs and news sites to Flickr feeds and Yahoo Finance pages. We all know what they do and how to use them right? As it turns out only about 7% of people knowingly use RSS, even though 25% of the population readily accesses content via RSS on customized homepages. So how do you make use of all this XML content event though a huge percentage of the population is unaware of it? Our local San Diego friends at Integral Impressions have come up with a very simple and easy way to push more of your RSS content to “web 1.0 users” aka - your grandmother. Their latest product Nourish, which launched late last year, is a ridiculously easy to use RSS to email application that lets you create customized emails based on various feeds. Now you can trick those late adopters into using technology!

Nourish has the ability to combine various RSS feeds into one campaign. You have the option to easily import and export contacts into your lists to create new campaigns on the fly instead of the time-honored (slow) one by one form submission way we’ve done it in the past. You also have some basic scheduling features similar to what you will find with email software. Nourish is based on the principle that simpler is better and you’ll find the interface clean and easy to use.

Nourish can create all sorts of solutions based on getting people information contained in those RSS feeds. Blog posts and news updates are some of the more common, Basecamp status updates to your clients is a very cool application. One of the best scenarios I’ve talked about with Nourish’s President and Co-Founder Matt Browne is the ability to email your photo updates to a list of your family members. Now people like your grandparents can get updates from your Flickr account automatically. Now you will have your techno-illiterate family members raving about how well you keep in contact with them with a medium they have finally adopted- EMAIL. Basic Nourish accounts are free to use and have the ability to send up to 5,000 emails a month.
