When I tell people that I am a designer one of the first responses is, “so like… you do logos and stuff?†Branding and creating logos is in fact one of my job responsibilities. Although it is not a large aspect of my work, it is often one of the most challenging. The logo bears a lot of responsibility. It expresses the brand and acts as the most important source of recognition and familiarity. It also represents the values associated with the brand. Needless to say, creating a logo is a heavy burden.
Logopond is an awesome web app created solely for logo designers. As its tagline says, it really is identity inspiration. You can view thousands of logos by featured galleries, most popular, featured artists or browse the entire collection. Each logo also has its own page where you can view the logo at a large size (300 pixels), comments, ratings, numbers of views and date submitted. You can click on the artist and instantly view all of their logos as large thumbnails. To become an artist, you simply sign up for a free user account. From here you can upload your logos and make comments on other logos.

The site itself is super clean and easy to use. All of the images load really quick and look great. Along with the logo galleries there are forums, articles, resources and even a Flickr section where people upload images, sketches and print/web work corresponding to their logos. They pretty much covered all the bases with this app. It’s an online portfolio, social network, and inspiration site in one. I can’t wait to upload my logos and start building my network. I can already foresee my new addiction!!! Two thumbs up for logopond.
