Tis the season and all - do you have your lights up yet? Better get moving, ’cause Santa can’t find your house (or office) without some cool lighting! This season, consider an investment in LED (light emitting diode) holiday lights. LEDs have some great advantages over traditional incandescent bulbs. They use less electricity, pose almost no fire hazard, and will last many years after your kids figure out how Santa gets to every single mall.
+ Save Money & Protect the Earth: An 80-90% reduction in electricity usage means that a 100-light string will use 4 watts instead of 50.
+ No Burning Reindeer: LED holiday lights generate very little heat, compared to toasty incandescent bulbs. If you haven’t figured it out by now, torching Rudolph is a sure-fire way to get coal in your stocking.
+ Forever and Ever: No, not really, but LEDs can last 200,000 hours. Much better than the few burned-out bulbs (or whole strings) there always seem to be every year.
Plus, LED lights have super-bright saturated colors that will make you MUCH cooler than your neighbors! Granted, they cost more, but the energy savings will offset the initial purchase price, especially if you’re Clark W. Griswold, or if your house is going to do this:
Check them out online at Amazon or at Holiday Creations. LED lights are also available at most retail stores (except Wal-Mart).
